NorthMUN’s first ever conference will be held on Sunday April 7th, 2019, at École Byrne Creek Secondary School. A spacious and modern establishment with newly renovated rooms and facilities just a five-minute walk away from the Edmonds Skytrain station, we hope that Byrne Creek will exceed delegates’ expectations as a conference venue. Committee sessions and conference ceremonies will all be held within the main student building.
As the most recently established secondary school in the Burnaby School District, Byrne Creek officially opened in September 2005. It was built to accommodate for the rising population in the city of Burnaby. Most students who attended schools close to Byrne Creek's vicinity transferred out of their schools to attend the closer institution. The school is made up three 'wings'—A, B, and C—and three portables. The school consists of two gyms, several computer labs, one media arts lab, two science labs, a dance studio, a band rehearsing room, a library, an atrium, a centre for dialogue, and nearly 60 classrooms.
